One evening while we were staying at Will's sisters house, she had some company come over. This man was an elder from their church (also the church Will went to growing up). He is a contractor and has a business of flipping houses on the side. He was talking to my sister-in-law about how he just put 4 houses on the market. I overheard this and asked him where they were and to tell me about them. He told us about this one in particular. He was going on and on about how he just flipped it and it has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a garage, a finished basement, and a walk up attic, that just needs a little work and could be 2 more huge bedrooms. I was falling in love as he was telling me more about the house. In my head I was thinking this house is way our of our price range, so when he told us the price, I almost fell over in shock~59,000! I immediately asked him if we could see the house that evening as soon as Will got home from work. He took us both there and it was the perfect house for us! We just loved it! Exactly what we needed and wanted.
We wanted to jump right in and buy it, but still hadn't heard anything back from the bank. That Sunday was a scheduled open house, so right after church Will and I went to the house in hopes to try to scare people away =). When we got to the house, no one was there. We called the owner and he called the real estate agent to see why the open house wasn't going on. Thankfully enough for us there had been too many open houses scheduled for that day, so they postponed that one until the following weekend. Amazing how God worked~gave us yet another week to hear back from the back to put in our offer and get the paper work going! Finally that following Thursday we heard back and Will started filling out the paper work on Friday!
The guy that is selling our house is such a God send! He has been doing everything in his power to help us get this house! He said that he would pay for all of the closing costs out of his pocket, he is going to be putting up a 6 ft. fence around the whole property for us come spring, and is even going to leave the fridge, stove, and microwave in the house for us~which he wasn't planning on doing!
We are so thankful that God put this guy into our life, and now looking back to see that I didn't have to worry because God was laying this all our for us in His time. Definitely learning patience through this whole process and hoping to not have to do this again for a VERY long time!
We have been told that the closing won't be til somewhere around November 15th. Due to the tax credit deadline everyone is trying to hurry up and buy a house and the banks are getting backed up with sending out inspectors and such. Just praying we are in by Thanksgiving~we have so much to be thankful for!!!!
The front of the house....they are going to be adding more shutters to the windows that don't have them.
The back of the house. There is actually a church right across the street with a beautiful steeple that they light up at night that you can see from every window in the back of the house~it's beautiful!
The living room! The fire place will be repainted~not a fan of the color. The windows on the side are actually like stained glass windows~minus the color. Apparently they are worth quite a bit and people tend to steal them, so there are bars up on the outside so no one can steal them.
The kitchen with all the appliances! =)
Our dinning room! I love the seated window! Just have to find someone who is willing to make a cushion so I can sit comfortably =)
The entry way and stairs~it's huge!
The master bedroom. This picture is taken by looking in through the french doors to what we are going to make into the nursery. Sydney already picked out her bedroom, and the spare room will be the guest bedroom and my scrapbooking room!!!
One of the two bathrooms.
The garage. Not sure exactly why they didn't cement the whole area with cement to drive up into the garage~odd?
I will definitely post pictures when we are all moved in and decorated! Hopefully that won't be too far away from now. Thanks to everyone who helped us during our transition period. To everyone who helped pack, load up the truck, drive the truck, let us stay with them until we go into our house, prayed for us, and even watched Sydney when we needed time to get work done! It's great to have such wonderful friends and family!!!!
