Our New House....part 2

Well, if you remember about 2 months ago I posted pics of what I thought was our house. As it turns out we don't live there. The processed appeared to be going along well until we got to the appraisal. The bank appraised the house for 20,000 less than the asking price (which was the price we offered to pay). Unfortunately it was the bank who messed up and when appraising it compared it to houses with 2 bedrooms and only 1,000 square feet. The house was at least 4 bedrooms and over 1,600 square feet. The appraisal for the house sticks with the house for 6 months. We could not get another appraisal nor would they redo the first one knowing they messed up. We didn't ask the guy who owned the house to go down on the price because as it was we thought we were getting a steal for offering what the asking price was. The house is worth it and knew that the owner knew that too and wasn't going to just give the house away. That same day the owner of that house~Gary~ had another house he said we could look at (he buys houses and flips them). He took us to another house he told us we had the option of renting or owning. Because we didn't love it and didn't want to start the whole process over again of trying to buy, and the fact that the baby was due soon, we decided to just rent it. The house is huge, but just doesn't have the number of bedrooms we need for the future. We told Gary we were just interested in renting and he let us move in right then and there, so we slept in the house that night! We are going to work with Gary and pick out a house that we want and we will buy it as is and he will fix it up the way we want it. As an example, the house that we currently live in was bought for 10,000 and he fixed it up. We could easily buy a house for that cheep and have him fix it up for us for about 30,000-5o,000 depending on how big it is and what we want done. I would pay that for my dream home! So here we are renting this huge house, and now for the pictures......

and here's the fridge....we didn't want it in front of the large window in the kitchen so they put it right outside the kitchen in the "sun room" aka Sydney's playroom.

The paint to make the yellow brick road is textured, it actually has pieces of granite in it. After painting that, I had to draw all the lines to make it look like bricks.

I did not post pics of our bedroom yet because the owner has some fix ups he still needs to do in there.
Overall we love the inside of the house and how large it is. Sydney is loving all of her play areas and is doing a WONDERFUL job keeping toys in their specific rooms and then cleaning up when she is done.
I am so happy the house is finished and the baby didn't arrive too early. It took us exactly two weeks to move everything in, paint, and set up and organize the whole house. We worked day and night (well, Will did when he wasn't actually at work). Sydney was a trooper~she didn't get a whole lot of our attention the past 2 weeks. We tried to include her in as much as we could. Before the baby comes it will be time to relax and play with Sydney and give her some much needed attention.
Thanks to everyone who was there for us through out this whole moving process! We couldn't have done it without all of you! It was a difficult month and a half, but we knew in the end it would be worth it.
