Happy 30th!

Sunday we celebrated Will's birthday~the day he has been dreading the past couple of months! He turned 30! I wanted to make it a special day for him so I planned lots of surprises, and a surprise birthday party being one of them. The day began actually with him coming home at 4 a.m. from work~that's not the best way to start out your birthday. Will usually takes the night feeding if Savannah wakes up, and of course she woke up at 5 a.m.! Seeing that it was his birthday I offered to do that feeding, and then we let him sleep as long as possible until he had to get up for church. But before church Sydney and I decorated a little around our house and made his favorite for breakfast~blueberry muffins! He was very thankful for a little more sleep and a delicious breakfast to wake up to! Off to church we went where many people who attend were invited to the party~so I was a little nervous that people were going to spoil the surprise, but thankfully no one did.

After church my sister-in-law, Michelle, and I had planned to ride back to her house together with the children~all 6! Then my brother-in-law, Lawrence, was in charge of Will. The plan was for Lawrence to have Will help count the offering~thankfully it was actually Lawrence's turn to do it this week, so it worked out perfectly. Then they were going to make a quick stop to Walmart and the gas station on their way home. That gave everyone enough time to get in the house, and for us to finish setting up.

Lawrence and Will arrived to Michelle and Lawrence's house where the party was, and everyone was in the house~perfect. He walked in and house and everyone yelled surprise. He was a little confused, but in the end he did know about the party. Although, it was more of a surprise as to who was all there! He did not expect to see some of the people that were there! There were people there that he had not seen in about 6 or more years! Even though he figured out about the party, we all still had a great time! Will is just that type that you can't really surprise like that~he figures things out so easily~he knows how movies are going to end even before the first 10 minutes of a movie!

It was a beautiful day for his party! Everyone had a great time reconnecting and socializing and sharing with us this special day!

This was the banner Sydney made for Daddy.

She even wrote her name all by herself~she's getting really good at it.

Some of the decorations I had made using my Cricut machine :)

It was more of a "Jets" football theme~his favorite team, so this is the cake I made for him.

This is the girls present to Daddy.

The top is Savannah's footprints with the poem that says:
"On this paper you will find
some tiny footprints that are one of a kind.
They're here to remind you the role you play
in the foundation that you lay.
God has given you this great treasure.
Teach her right and share her pleasure.
She learns from you in every way
so be careful of the words you say.
Hold her tight and calm her fears.
When she cries wipe away her tears.
In all these things she feels your love
And learns to trust the Lord above!"

The bottom is of Sydney's finger prints made in the shape of grapes and it says "love you bunches Daddy!" and then she wrote her name!

We had such a great day and a big thank-you to all who helped and attended to make it special for him!
