Strike a Pose!

Sydney turns 3 1/2 today (since there is no 31st in this month)! She is just growing up to be such a beautiful young lady. She has definitely hit the terrible 3's, but with a little help and encouragement she is such a wonderful young lady to be around!

Sydney still is a non stop talker! We are in trouble when she gets her own cell phone~bills are going to be through the roof! She always has something to say! She will go on and on about ANYTHING! She makes us laugh sometimes when she tells us stories~so animated too!

Sydney absolutely LOVES to do pretend play. She would do that all day if we let her~so we do have to encourage her to sit down and actually do an activity. Her favorite this to pretend about is packing and going in the car on a long trip (I wonder where she got that from!?!). Most of the time her toddler bed is converted into a car. When her cousin is over they pretend they are packing the car to go to church :). She has a wonderful active imagination!

Sydney also has a desire for books. She has really gotten into my books on CD that I had from teaching. She will constantly ask for those when it's "rest" time. She lines her stuffed animals up on her bed too so they can listen.

Sydney has turned around with her eating habits. She has always loved fruits and veggies, which she still does, but she is so much more willing to eat anything you put in front of her! I think the power of suggestion is working wonders with her. I just suggest that she try something because it's delicious and she will and not make faces and put up a fight to eat~so we are definitely making progress there!

She is still such a great sleeper~thank the Lord! If she does take a nap at home it usually lasts from 2-4 hours! Then she will sleep for about 12 hours at night as well. There have been a few nights where she did some sleep walking and had night tremors! That was a little frightening, but it's been about 3 weeks since she has had another.

I can't believe I can say this, but it has been a year and a half since Sydney has been sick! The last time she was sick was a week before her 2nd birthday~and that was just with a high fever and nothing else! I don't think I have ever known a child not have a normal childhood illness every now and then. I do expose her to germs all the time. She goes to gymnastics, soccer, shopping, play dates, church etc. etc. so she is around germs all the time! We are just so thankful that she is healthy!

We are currently doing school at home with Sydney, but because of her personality she really needs to go to school. She is just too social to be home schooled. I have looked into a pre-k for her, so hopefully she will be able to get in, either this year or next because of when her birthday falls she wouldn't be able to start Kindergarten until she was almost 6~that's another 2 1/2 years from now! There is no way this little girl can be home for another 2 1/2 more years without going to school. She is doing well with learning how to write. We are taking it slow with a letter at a time. She has been really into whales and dolphins and other creatures of the ocean, so that is what we are learning right now. Sydney loves to do school!

Sydney has become a great big sister! She loves to play with Savannah and do things for her such as feeding her and even changing messy diapers! I think she wants her to grow up and be like her right away so they can play the same things together. I can't wait for that day as well, but I do enjoy having my little girl be little!

Sydney has also gotten involved in gymnastics which has ended for the summer and now into soccer! Her enthusiasm is still there even after the first week! She has her 2nd practice today and 2nd game tomorrow, so we will see if it's still there after that. She is such an active little girl that she needs all these activities! Within the next month we start swim lessons! Sydney will most likely start back up with gymnastics after the summer is over and move onto the next sport~maybe fall soccer.

Sydney is such an active, energetic, beautiful, imaginative, sweet, and helpful little girl and we enjoy her and love her very much! ♥

We got some fun pictures taken of her today for her 3 1/2 year celebration!

She's just warming up~cool dude!

Mischievous!
